Food That Makes Your Skin Glow

In this post I will be going through the different foods that make your skin glow. I love my body and my skin and it's important to feed your body the right foods. You not only feel better and healthier on the inside but it shows on the outside.


Carrots are very good for the eyes and good for clearing up acne breakouts. Carrots contain Beta-Carotene with Vitamin A an antioxidant which is very good for the skin and making your skin youthful with a glow. It prevents the overproduction of cells in the skin's outer layer. This reduces the dead skin cells which can contribute to clogging your pores.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet Potatoes are an antioxidant. They contain Beta-Carotene or Vitamin A. This can be a very powerful antioxidant for preventing various types of cancer. It also repairs damages caused to the skin cells by UV rays of the sun also protecting the skin from further UV radiation damage. In addition to the Vitamin A and C, sweet potatoes also contain Vitamin E which is extremely beneficial to the health of your skin. It improves your complexion giving you flawless skin.

They contain high levels of Magnesium and iron which help in relaxation and can be an excellent stress buster for the skin.

Sweet potatoes are amazing at healing your dark eye circles and eye puffiness. If you apply sweet potato to your eyes this aids in removing wrinkles and the puffiness of the eyes. This is down to the presence of anthocyanin which has an anti-inflammatory properties also reducing pigmentation.


Turmeric is known for protecting against certain types of cancer and reducing pain and inflammation however, it also protects the skin. It contains an active antioxidant, curcumin has to be one of the most effective anti-inflammatory and free radical fighting options. It can also be used to lighten dark pigmentation blotches and scars caused by hormone imbalances.


Salmon is one of the most potent sources of anti-inflammatory Omega-3s. Salmon also contains dimethylaminoethanol which is known to promote healthy skin as it protects the cell membranes. This contributes to the decreasing of clogged pores and averting fine lines and wrinkles. I LOVE salmon it is so tasty and of course has huge benefits on the skin. Salmon is said to also protect the skin against skin cancer.

Mixed Berries

Who does not love mixed berries. They are yummy and also very good for your skin. Berries are antioxidants and antioxidants promote youthful glowing skin. They attack the free radicals produced by things such as pollution and UV damage. Berries are important for good health. They can reduce cholesterol, help prevent diabetes and cancer, and are great sources of immunity-boosting vitamin C. They are also full of nutrient-rich building blocks such as antioxidants, phytochemicals, flavonoids, carotenoids, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals.


Avocado is rich in vitamins A,D and E. They are one of those foods that to can place with anything and everything. Avocados are rich in good fats, phytonutrients and full of vitamin E which is perfect for hydration of the skin. Avocados are a great source of antioxidant carotenoids like alpha-carotene, beta carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin, zeaxanthin and lutein. These free radical compounds provide t protection for your skin fine lines, wrinkles and other visible signs of aging.

Green Tea

Green tea improves your skin complexion and makes your skin healthy. It helps flush out toxins from the skin, heals blemishes and scars, and reduces inflammation. It even improves the skin’s elasticity. Green tea has anti-aging and antioxidant benefits that can help delay signs of skin aging..The polyphenols in green tea help neutralize harmful free radicals, which can cause significant damage to the skin and accelerate the aging process.


It is a good source of vitamin A, so it works as a great anti-oxidant on skin. It helps in removing dead skin cells. Papaya helps in preventing premature aging and has anti-cancerous and anti-inflammatory properties.The Alpha Hydroxyl Acids act to break down proteins and dissolve the dead skin cells. That is why many exfoliating skin products contain AHAs. So, papaya acts as a natural, plant-based alternative to chemical exfoliants. . Since, green papaya is a rich source of papain; you can use papaya for skin whitening. Papaya works as a great skin-firming and anti-aging agent. Mash papaya and apply on your face with or without milk. It helps in removing blemishes, dark spots and provides an even tone to your skin.
